The Eastern Music Orchestra K.E.M.F.A. participates. (Greek Music Center "Phoebus Anogeianakis")
As Ottoman music is governed by a rich tradition, this workshop will focus on Istanbul's repertoire of vocal and organ music from the 18th to the 20th century, secular and religious. In the meetings - with the intention of approaching this classical repertoire from a modern point of view, while highlighting the oriental melody with a typical orchestra of similar musical instruments - the boundaries between tropicality and the combination of improvisation and improvisation will be approached. form.
At the same time, the aim of the project is to detect elements of admixture of oriental music with folk traditions that are placed temporally and spatially closer to our place and time. For this reason, the Eastern Music Orchestra of KEMFA will attempt an interactive coexistence with the multicultural choir "Chortodia" on a repertoire of traditional music of Pelion. The communication networks and the musical influences of the tropics of the Eastern Mediterranean that they bring about are thus perceived as a legacy in an ever-renewing musical tradition.
