Beethoven Choral Course

Following the success of the first Horto choral course last year, when some 65 singers performed the Brahms Requiem, this year’s course will feature the Mass in C by Beethoven, under the direction of conductor Timothy Brown, with a small orchestra.

The performance will take place on 6 August, 2018.

Daily rehearsals will take place during the preceding week and singers from all over the world are invited to participate.

Vocal Masterclass

The 34th Horto Festival presents the internationally acclaimed bass from Metropolitan Opera in New York, Dimitris Kavrakos, in a unique masterclass of lyrical song.

As one of the most prominent, Dimitris Kavrakos will focus on breathing as a fundamental basis for the song and bel canto technique.

Arsis Conducting Seminar & Open Orchestra

The Horto Summer Orchestral Academy is a combination of the Open Orchestra seminars and the Arsis Conducting Seminar.   The Academy is designed for student conductors plus all the symphony orchestra instrument players.

The general supervisor is Anastasios Strikos who will colaborate with experienced music teachers.
